mama says tee

my mother has always chosen to speak life over me. even when I would choose only to see suffering or struggling, she would be quick to bind up those thoughts and words and send them back to the "lil funky place" they came from. reminding me that they had no authority over my mind or my life and that i should not be so quick to give my power away and instead i should claim it, boldly. so this shirt and these words i share with you, from the lips of my own mother, as a physical reminder to not feed into the dark thoughts, the painful circumstances, the deprecating words, the shameful feelings and instead take your power back and cast them out as quickly as they try to rise up.
